Authorities stated they were notified by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.

An important representative said the attack rendered him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
